"Was Downriver for work and had a taste for quesabirria tacos. This was the first spot that popped up in this area. Read the reviews and decided to stop in and I’m GLAD that I did. I ordered the 12’ quesabirria which was made quesadilla style instead of individual tacos along with a side of rice and beans. It. Was. Phenomenal! I ordered the Horchata for my drink and it makes you want to slap somebody! Maaaannnn that was good. Overall my food was seasoned to perfection including the consommé that comes with the quesabirria and the horchata was perfectly sweetened. I ate all of my food before I remembered to take a picture of it. However it looks just like the picture in the restaurant window. The restaurant is clean with welcoming decor that says “stay for a bit.” So if you’re in the area or if you’ll drive a distance for great food like me, stop in and check them out for sure. The owner said used to be El Pollo Negro food truck but now the brick and mortar is called El Zarape. Salud!!"

"Had an excellent experience at this Mexican restaurant. We ordered the chicken chimichangas and were genuinely surprised by how generous the portion sizes were. The food was flavorful and clearly made with care. The owner/chef was incredibly welcoming, and our server was polite and attentive throughout the visit. We asked for extra chips and salsa and tried a few of their sauces—everything was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was warm, the environment was inviting, and the restaurant was very clean. Places like this truly deserve more recognition. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, this is definitely worth a visit."

"This is a wonderful family-run restaurant serving delicious, authentic Mexican food. I really enjoyed the horchata — so refreshing and perfectly made. The prices are very reasonable, and the portions are generous; I actually enjoyed the rest of my meal the following day. The decor is inviting and colorful, and I loved the seating — very comfortable and welcoming. The service was amazing, and the chips and salsa were incredible… my mouth still waters thinking about it. Highly recommend — a great place for quality food, warm service, and a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. I cant wait to dine in again, my taste buds are excited just thinking about the food."

"My wife and I have been by this restaurant many times, today we decided to stop in and see how it was. Man, were we ever pleasantly surprised, there was no one there, this was about 1:30pm. It is a bright and cheery little place, we were quickly greeted by the waitress, got our drinks and then ordered. My wife got a lunch special, I got the dinner combination. And ... it was absolutely incredible, what a most wonderful meal ... my wife was as impressed with her lunch as well. This was our first time here, but, judging on the food we had today, we weill be back again ... soon!! ... Really Really good!!!"

"This is probably my 4th or 5th visit here, overall the food has been consistently good. Today I decided to try some different tacos, I got a carnitas, Al pastor, quesabirria, and asada, they were all cooked really well, could’ve used just a touch more seasoning, or maybe just salt (maybe just personal preference) but overall very solid."

"Really amazing food! All of the meals were presented as beautifully as they tasted! Chicken flautas were a 10/10. We also got some fried ice cream at the end, best i’ve had! We will be going again soon."
